KAMARUKA

Board Vacancies

Kamaruka Education Centre is seeking two experienced and values-driven Non-Executive Directors to join its Board and help shape the next chapter of this respected specialist education provider.

For more than 25 years, Kamaruka has provided specialist education for boys in Years 3–10 who benefit from an individualised educational environment. Located across two campuses in South Yarra, Kamaruka supports up to 60 students through an inclusive, relational and highly personalised approach to education.

As a registered Australian charity with annual operating revenue of approximately $2.5 million, Kamaruka is now implementing its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, with a vision to become the school of choice for neurodivergent students and their families.

These two appointments provide an opportunity to contribute your expertise at an important stage in Kamaruka's development, helping guide strategic growth, organisational sustainability and positive outcomes for students and their families.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Principal and leadership team, the Board provides strategic leadership, effective governance and long-term stewardship of Kamaruka.

Over the coming years, key priorities include:

  • Strengthening excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Growing enrolments and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
  • Increasing awareness of Kamaruka's specialist educational offering.
  • Strengthening engagement with families and the broader community.
  • Exploring future facilities and sustainable growth opportunities.

We are seeking two complementary appointments that will strengthen the collective capability of the Board.

We welcome applications from experienced leaders with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Governance and strategy
  • Executive leadership
  • Education
  • Psychology or allied health

Previous Board experience is welcomed but not essential. Applications are encouraged from both experienced Non-Executive Directors and senior executives seeking to build their governance careers.

Kamaruka values diversity of thought, experience and background and is seeking Directors who share our commitment to improving outcomes for neurodivergent students and their families.

These are voluntary Board appointments involving four Board meetings each year, together with participation in committees, strategic projects and an annual strategy workshop as required.
