The students embarked onto Torquay Camp in the second week of school. Some of the brave students jumped off the towers in Geelong and braved the cold water. We stayed at the Torquay Lifesavers Club where the boy forged some good friendships which kept flourishing back at school. The surfing was a highlight. Most of the students were apprehensive about this activity but they all enjoyed it immensely and stayed in the water the whole time. Their teacher stood up for the first time and they all cheered her on.
There was a great cohort and the comradery between them, apparent as soon as camp begun. We ended camp with a trip to the Chocolatier. Made some delicious rocky road, followed by an ice-cream tasting so we ended the day on a sugar crush.
I think staff and students can all agree it was a successful camp with many cherished memories for all. The students were amazing and kind with such good manners. It was an absolute pleasure to experience camp with this cohort and the positivity still infuses through the campus.
